About the Customer
Showroom Coffee is a brand of Crop to Cup Coffee Importers. It sells specialty green coffee, roasting equipment, and cupping and lab supplies to two kinds of buyers: home roasters buying a few pounds at a time and commercial buyers ordering in bulk.
The Challenge
The store ran on self-hosted WooCommerce, with inventory managed in Google Sheets and pushed to the site by Make.com. Moving to Shopify meant replacing the storefront without breaking the system the team runs the business on.
- Inventory by Weight Each coffee lot is one pool of pounds sold in five bag sizes, so stock for every size has to update from the same pool.
- Two Kinds of Buyers Home roasters and bulk buyers shop the same catalogue and need sizes from 2 lb up to a full bag.
- Bundles and Subscriptions The store needed a build-your-own bundle and a recurring coffee subscription, which the old site did not support.
- Payments and Integrations Card payments, pay later, email, shipping, tax, and accounting all had to be moved or reconnected for launch.
The Approach
Ecomm Guys ran this as a WooCommerce to Shopify Advanced migration and build. The existing Google Sheets and Make.com inventory sync was retargeted to Shopify, so the team kept the sheet they already use as the source of truth.
The team built two product page templates, one for coffee and one for equipment, and set up bundles and subscriptions. It also migrated the catalogue, customers, and orders with redirects from the old URLs, and reconnected payments, email, shipping, tax, and accounting before go-live. Training sessions came before launch.
What We Built
Weight-Pool Inventory Sync
The Make.com sync now writes from the Google Sheets inventory pool to Shopify, recalculating stock for all five bag sizes from one pool of pounds.
Coffee Product Pages
Each lot shows its five bag sizes, from 2 lb to a full bag, with a per-pound price and origin details such as altitude and varietals.
Equipment Product Pages
A separate template for roasters and lab equipment, with room for the detail high-ticket buyers need.
Bundles and Pro Kits
A build-your-own bundle page plus ready-made equipment kits, built on Appstle Bundles.
Coffee Club Subscriptions
A recurring coffee subscription that bills every 1, 2, or 3 months, on Appstle Subscriptions.
Shop by Country
A page for browsing green coffee by origin country, alongside shopping by processing method.
- Payments Shopify Payments replaced CardKnox, Shop Pay Installments replaced Affirm, and PayPal was connected.
- Email and Reviews Klaviyo reconnected with direct-to-cart links in emails, and Judge.me product reviews added for the first time.
- Shipping, Tax, and Accounting ShipStation and Avalara reconnected, QuickBooks Online connected through Webgility, and redirects mapped from the old WooCommerce URLs.

Results
- Showroom Coffee is live on Shopify Advanced, migrated off WooCommerce.
- Inventory still runs from the Google Sheet the team already uses, now feeding Shopify instead of WooCommerce.
- Home roasters and bulk buyers shop one catalogue, with five bag sizes on every coffee lot.
- Coffee Club subscriptions and a build-your-own bundle are live on the new store.
- Card payments and pay later moved to Shopify Payments and Shop Pay Installments, with PayPal alongside.
Takeaway
For Showroom Coffee, the migration meant moving to Shopify while keeping the inventory system the business already runs on. It also meant adding the bundles and subscriptions the catalogue needed.
