About the Customer
Post-Tension Products supplies hardware for post-tensioning construction: lock-off anchors, flat wedges, grease caps, cable, and strand winches. The business sells to both wholesale accounts and direct buyers, which means one storefront has to serve contractors buying at negotiated pricing and one-off buyers at list price.
The Challenge
The catalogue was running on WooCommerce and needed to move to Shopify without losing the parts that make a B2B supply business work. Three things carried the real complexity.
- Wholesale Pricing Wholesale buyers expect to see their own pricing when they log in.
- Heavy and Bulk Shipping Large and heavy orders need shipping rates that reflect real freight costs.
- Technical Documents Contractors need spec sheets and technical documents close at hand.
- Catalogue and Customers Everything else, the full product catalogue and customer base, had to migrate cleanly into a store the team could run after launch.
The Approach
Ecomm Guys ran this as a full WooCommerce to Shopify Plus migration with the B2B buying experience as the centre of the build. Account-based pricing, wholesale onboarding, and the quote workflow were treated as the parts that had to be right before launch, because they are what the business runs on.
The team restructured the catalogue for Shopify and built the B2B pricing and account system natively on Plus. It also configured shipping for heavy and bulk orders, migrated the customer base into the correct pricing catalogs, and set up a technical documents area for spec sheets. The store then went through full QA before go-live and moved into post-launch support.

Takeaway
B2B on Shopify needs its own pricing logic, account structure, quote flow, and shipping that reflects how the products actually move. This build put all of that on Shopify Plus for a supplier whose customers buy on account.
