About the Customer
JAWS Cleaners sells refillable, concentrated cleaning products on a Just Add Water model. The brand has run ecommerce for more than 10 years and serves thousands of customers. They expect the buying experience to work the way they're used to, including the recurring subscription program many of them rely on.
The Challenge
JAWS was operating on an aging custom-built site with a Drupal CMS and needed to move to Shopify without disrupting the parts of the business their customers depended on day to day. Two of those parts carried real risk in a migration.
- Subscription Program A live subscription program the brand had built over years. Losing or breaking it during the move was the client's single biggest concern.
- Bundles and Kits A custom bundling and kit buying experience (Build-Your-Own and full cleaning kits) that had to be rebuilt natively on Shopify.
- Catalogue and Content The rest of the catalogue, content, and operational tooling had to carry over cleanly into a store the team could run themselves after launch.
The Approach
Ecomm Guys ran the engagement as a full migration and redesign on Shopify Advanced. The team treated the subscription program and the custom bundle builder as the two workstreams that had to be right before anything went live.
The build restructured the product architecture for Shopify so bundles and inventory tracking would hold up, rebuilt the subscription program on a Shopify-native stack, and moved catalogue, content, and email operations across. The team then handed the store to the client, trained them on it, and supported the launch.
What We Built
Custom Bundle Builder
Rebuilt the Build-Your-Own and full-kit buying flows as native Shopify experiences, with product architecture restructured so bundles map correctly to inventory.
Subscription Migration
Moved the existing subscription program onto Appstle. Ran a test migration first, then a full import, activated subscriptions post-launch, and worked through the edge cases that break most subscription moves (payment methods missing from the export, legacy subscriber shipping rates).
Storefront Design and Build
Theme-based storefront designed in Figma and built on Shopify Advanced, with QA before go-live.
Catalogue and Content
Product, page, and blog content migrated into the new store.
- Email Operations Omnisend configured with brand-domain sending verified.
- Ops and Tracking Shipping rates and analytics tracking carried over as part of the cutover.
- Enablement and Support Live training plus a written onboarding guide, then a defined post-launch support window.

In the Client's Words
One of our biggest concerns was our existing subscription service. We weren’t sure we would be able to successfully carry it over to the new platform, but they took the time to find a solution and made it work.

Takeaway
This engagement fits brands whose migration risk sits in the systems customers already depend on. When subscriptions and custom bundling have to survive the move, the work centres on the architecture and the edge cases.
